THOMPSON, Manitoba -- One of the principal investigators of the project was NASA scientist (and now astronaut) Piers Sellers. One day Piers and another NASA scientist, Forrest Hall, gave me and another BOREAS researcher a chance to go up and look at the landscape -- which was getting hammered by wildfires. Piers is at the controls of the aircraft.
