Sunrise from the train

ABOARD THE CANADIAN NATIONAL, Manitoba (28 July 1994) -- The sun is coming up over the boreal forests of Northern Manitoba. Because it is summer, and this is the far north, sunrise comes early, around 5 a.m. This photo is extra dark. First, the timing is still pretty much at twilight, plus I am passing one of many burnt areas. (Fire is a common disturbance of boreal forests.)
