Forest edge

CHURCHILL, Manitoba (29 July 1994) -- The terms treeline or timberline can be misleading. They are not solid lines, as one would draw on paper, but patchy areas grading from closed canopy forest, to forest broken by patches of tundra, to tundra broken by patches of forest, to tundra with isolated trees, to solid tundra.

This area was south of the Churchill Northern Studies Centre and the Churchill Rocket Research Range along Twin Lakes Road.
